The name for this comes from the fact that it kinda looks like a telephone. Kinda.
Sometimes I'd love to know where my ideas come from. The idea for how to make the hinges just occurred to me out of the blue, and then the rest of the pendant fell into place. Okay, the idea fell into place; actually making it took a lot longer. I think I was the most worried about how to make the little key-and-chain for the clasp, and that part took no time at all. Getting the door to close properly? Big 'ol pain. The next pendant like this will hopefully have a smaller gap at the top and bottom.
The main part of the pendant is a 1.5 inch tall bandsaw box, meaning I took a solid chunk of oak and sliced off the top and sides, then glued them back into place. I painted the inside red to hide the ends of the wires, but that's hopefully harder to see.
