This was my first attempt at making a bandsaw box so small. A little rustic, but very close to the effect I was looking for. I had to jury-rig the hinge, after my first attempt made the top of the door crumble. I'm...a little surprised that it worked, frankly. I'm finding that as I make more jewelry, I don't make fewer mistakes. However, my mistakes don't end up with the piece being thrown into the trash quite as often.
I'd love to make a lot more of this sort of thing. The black-painted, gear-filled compartment makes me think of a Brother's Quay animation. Or something out of "The Cell". (And yes, I LIKED that movie. I even own the DVD. It's very lacking in substance, but oh, such beautiful style...)
