Why look here, a departure from the norm.
I'm finding that trying to do circular pieces is REALLY difficult. My other earrings and pendants are more abstract, so it isn't as obvious when the shape isn't perfect. Here, my tendency to fake it while shaping it isn't doing me any favors. If I make more of these (and I plan to) I'm going to have to do, ugh, measuring.
This is the first time that I've managed to use four different types of wood in one pendant. The center piece is bird's-eye maple, the rim is walnut, the top and bottom sections are purpleheart-figured, and the black dot is actually a thin rod of ebony that runs all the way through from front to back. And of course, watch pieces.

I love the idea of, except for the gears itself, every part of a watch being made of wood instead of metal. That could be the basis for a whole story right there.
