Miniature instruments and Chairs alternate view by Fandragon Miniature instruments and Chairs alternate view by Fandragon
Another picture of my miniatures, this time with a penny for scale.

And this would be one of my entries in THIS year's North Carolina Craft Competition. I got a second prize ribbon for it in the miniatures category! (And there were only two entries in that category. Oh I wish I was joking...)

I created a miniature chair as part of my piece "At Its Heart" (fandragon.deviantart.com/art/M…), using pieces leftover from my other piece "Sibling Revelry" (fandragon.deviantart.com/art/M…). I still had a few pieces left from my original supplies, so I decided to make more chairs.

Both of these are two and a quarter inches tall, and all of the separate parts were hand carved from pieces of an old oak children's chair. The clarinet was shaped from a chunk sawed off of an old clarinet (with silver wire for the details), the violin was carved from a piece of a worn out children's violin, and there's even a  teeny little violin bow made from a splinter of an old violin bow.

Because let me tell you, when I go with a theme I run it into the ground.

All musical instruments involved were pre-destroyed and donated by a local musical supply store. I haven't had a musical performance go badly enough for me to want to destroy a real instrument. Yet.
